Trusted bank consulting.
Achieve the change you want.
Let’s examine your goals, analyze solutions and choose the right one for your institution.
Here’s what we do.
Project Management
“We hired Virginia to project manage a couple projects that had been “stuck” within the Operations side of the Bank. Not only has she successfully brought them to close, she’s taken on a management mentor role for several mid-level managers on our Team…”

We help you
- Manage risks
- Increase collaboration
- Improve your ROI
Is your project achieving the goals you envisioned?
For the banking sector, the science of project management is straightforward; however, it takes time to manage the technology, people and processes. With forty years of project management in diverse financial institutions, we help you achieve the following:
- Define clear goals and milestones to ensure all parties are working toward the same result.
- Make and maintain a project plan with the appropriate amount of detail to capture the tasks, timelines, and deadlines needed to manage your size project, including risk factors, qualitative measures and trigger points so you can concentrate on your job.
- Create and maintain a communication plan with triggering events to help ensure everyone is on the same page and you spend less time in meetings.
- Monitor and control project progress to identify issues early, understanding key data points to allow you identify issues early and to take corrective action.
- Manage risks throughout the project to proactively address and remediate material risks as is appropriate for the banking industry.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork. Projects, if done correctly, can create and foster collaboration, reinforcing behaviors and habits to build more profitable institutions.
- Regular project reviews highlighting what you need to know to take action and stay informed.
- We will work with your team to gather and document lessons learned.
- Where we see confusion or duplication of effort, we’ll call these to your attention so you can redefine roles and responsibilities.
Product Management
“Virginia successfully launched a product where several other teams had failed and has been an excellent resource on all things banking. It was an absolute pleasure to work with her.”

We help you
- Focus on customers
- Define and prioritize requirements
- Decrease your time to market
Acquiring, retaining and growing profitable customers is more than setting rates and challenging your relationship managers or your branch staff. You have a unique mix of service and product offerings – are they working in tandem to generate the customers you deserve? As experienced banking consultants we can help.
Successful product management in banking services with a focus on the customer experience covers these areas:
- Uncover and document customer needs including pain points. We work with your team to uncover a deeper understanding of your target audience, their preferences and behaviors. We’re specialists in banking services and we understand customer drivers. You may instinctively understand these factors; we’ll help you codify this into actionable identifiers.
- Create product roadmaps. We’ll build a high-level plan outlining the goals, objectives and strategy for selected products, providing a clear picture of the product’s vision, milestones and timelines, aligning stakeholders and driving positive customer experiences.
- Prioritize features. Every implementation balances costs and functionalities; by focusing on the customer, business objectives and technical feasibility, we’ll maintain an actionable list of features, balancing between short-term and long-term goals.
- Define requirements. Given the roadmap and prioritization, we’ll work with your development partners using Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid methods.
- Create a product feedback loop. We work with your team to develop or reinforce existing continuous feedback loops to improve the product and increase the potential for meeting future customer and regulatory expectations.
- Collaboration with cross functional teams. We’ll focus on common goals to ensure collaboration and efficient communication, improving alignment.
- Measure success. We’ll help train your team to take on these longer term monitoring activities.
Change Management
“Virginia has an extraordinary ability to assess complex situations and be able to translate and present it so that many different audiences…could absorb and take definitive actions… She made a dramatic difference in the ways we would analyze issues and come to final decisions.”

Is change happening to you or for you? Change management is the process of planning, implementing, and monitoring changes within an organization to achieve successful outcomes. How each individual responds drives success or failure.
Assuming an executive sponsor is in place, we can help you build support by following these best practices in the banking industry:
- Develop a clear and concise plan to outline the steps taken, and the timelines, milestones, and resources required to implement the change you need.
- Communicate effectively with a written communication plan; one including regular updates, feedback mechanisms, and channels for two-way communication creating a record appropriate for banking services.
- Engage stakeholders in the planning and implementation process to capture their concerns and interests. This will help build buy-in and support for the change.
- Train and support employees to help them adapt to the change. This can include training programs, coaching, and other forms of support.
- Monitor and evaluate progress to ensure the changes you want are on track and achieving the desired outcomes for your business model.

Meet Virginia Robbins
I've been there. Whatever you're facing - I've seen it.
As a senior executive in the banking industry, I’ve navigated all stages of a bank’s journey from de novo to preparing for sale, from surviving high organic growth to incorporating acquisitions. Working with operations and technology teams, I’ve improved bank performance and regulatory compliance. At the end of the day, I understand what keeps you up at night. I've worked with state and federal regulators, boards and bankers of all types.
I understand how to balance the science and art of managing projects and launching products, including managing difficult people, tight budgets and unclear commitments. I’ve worked with Marketing, IT, Finance, Operations, Sales and Credit and can help you motivate, communicate and support community bankers and their boards, to build stronger customer experiences and deeper client relationships. I have the communication skills to defuse difficult situations and keep teams focused on results.
Coming quickly up to speed on your institution's unique challenges as a skilled bank consultant, I'll help you identify talent and retain key employees. Use our consulting services for your projects and product development to build a stronger, healthier and more profitable bank or credit union.
We know you have many banking consulting firms to choose from. Let's work together to keep community financial institutions strong and resilient.
How do you work with us?
We start with a free 1 hour consultation where we’ll discuss your challenges and goals. If we agree to go forward, You’ll receive an initial proposal including a budget, clear objectives and next milestones. Upon agreement, we’ll set a time to start.
Unlike other bank consulting firms, we’re focused on your data. During this first session, we listen to your unique needs, and propose actionable next steps. If we’re not a good match for your challenges, we’ll tell you. We want our relationship to succeed.
What types of work do you do?
As a bank consulting firm, we work in the intersection of process improvement, customer journeys, and technology change. We understand business operations, client experiences, technology and can help bridge the gap between business owners, IT and marketing. We support various development methodologies – Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid and have used different development management tools such from Jira to Smartsheet. With your consent, we may use additional specialists to move your project along faster.
What does this cost?
Each project has its own unique set of circumstances. Let’s set up an initial meeting, understand where you are and what is needed. We know many of the banking consulting firms and if we’re not a fit, we may have a recommendation for you. Rates are affordable for the majority of institutions.
What guarantees do you offer?
Projects require both of us to work. You’ll receive weekly reports of what’s done, what’s open and what’s pending. However, if our style isn’t working for you, then you can cancel at any time.
What documentation do we receive?
We understand what the banking industry requires in terms of documentation for products and services, and regulatory review. Documentation includes at a minimum, weekly written progress statements and where applicable, testing plans, user guides, training plans and other items that we mutually agree upon are needed for your project to be successfully completed.
We’ll talk through in advance what documentation you need and when, so that you pay only for what you need. As successful bank consultants, we want your referral.
Moving Your Team Forward
Change management is not just about the product or the project but making sure that your people get the why and how. Moving (mostly) everyone forward is what I do best.
A Trusted Advisor
I understand people and budgets; it’s people, staff and customers, with a focus on the bottom line. I also understand risk management and the need to protect the bank.
